Adventures, well sort of

WEAR THE HERO SIGN

They weren't carrying a HERO sign when they came home, neither my son or husband were.  But they should have been after the afternoon they had had in Seattle that day.

While putting equipment in our car from a filming on location in a back alley downtown Seattle, (my son is a young film director/producer), my son and husband looked up to notice a man running with a bag.  They both registered that the bag was not the man's.  Next around the corner came a young Asian lady along with her friends, who were yelling and chasing the man with the bag.  My husband and son, immediately ran up the street, it was a hill, and began pursuit of the thief.  My son lagged a little behind, keeping back with the girls.  Being a federal agent, my husband has tons of skills in doing this sort of thing. (picture and hear dialogue from the movie Napoleon Dynamite.)  They ended up chasing the man for several blocks, rounding many corners and even picked up a few extra "pursuers" along the way.

Finally the thief worked himself into a spot of no escape.  The three men, my husband, included had the guy surrounded.  After running so far, the man dropped the bag and said he was done, too tired.  My husband let him go, he didn't feel it necessary to make an arrest, the property was sufficiently recovered, no harm done other than the chase.  The young Asian ladies, arrived and thanked my husband and son profusely, bowing over and over.  They did not speak English.  We suspect they were visiting or perhaps exchange students.

Now, if that isn't cause for a marching band, balloons, confetti, the key to the city presented by the Mayor, and being able to declare "Today I was a Hero!" Then I don't know what is.

Thank you husband and son for putting yourselves out there.  You definitely have skills!
